Nowdays the situation of the Manzanares Park is critical because people throw a lot of garbage in the river and around the park, Parque Lineal de Manzanares. Some residents have complained about this problem, however, their voices have not been heard and we must take this situation in our own hands. 

 

If this rubbish is not removed quickly, this could become a serious problem for the water cycle and the environment .This is an important issue because if the water is polluted, it is not safe for animals and plants to consume which would greatly impact their water and food supply. 

Our goal for the project Madrid H20 Savers is to raise awareness on this problem. We believe this is an important aim for our community since people think that the problem is almost nonexistent.  Unfortunately, this problem exists and it is a really big issue that can, as we explained earlier, deteoriate and pollute all the river and the wildlife that is near the river. 

In addition, apart from having an impact on the environment, it may affect the economy of the city. In other words, if the park's wildlife becomes extinct, there will be no more tourists in the park, which also means that the park could become a forgotten place and we would  have fewer green areas in Madrid. Consequently, with this project, we are also helping the quality of life of the inhabitants of the nearby of the Manzanares Park and Madrid.
